About Me
I AM Sadene' L. Nicholson, the creator of Beauty of a Nurse.
I have always naturally been a nurturer, so becoming a nurse just made sense to me. In 2016, I graduated from nursing school. At graduation, we were required to wear all white dresses, stockings, and shoes. This day was one of the most rewarding days of my life, I felt beautiful, I looked beautiful, I felt professional, I felt like a nurse. My instructor made her speech, and in her speech, she said "Wear your nursing title as a badge of honor, always be professional and look professional. People will know you are their nurse not only from your badge but how you carry yourself and how you make them feel. Always carry yourself professionally and let your smile and your appearance introduce you before you even speak". This stuck with me throughout my career. I always prided myself in my appearance, specifically my uniform. I admired women such as Mary Mahoney and Florence Nightingale; I respected their work ethic and dedication and their ability to maintain feminism while gracefully saving lives. I wanted to bring this feminism back to nursing, and thus beauty of a nurse was born. Beauty of a Nurse allows all nurses to feel beautiful and professional all at once, from LPN's, RN's, too NP’s. The vision was clear as it was written in history; nurses are the heart of healthcare; we are the beauty of healthcare.
Welcome to Beauty of a Nurse.
